My body’s been through it lately, emotionally and physically. Training slowed, numbers stalled, and John and I have been stuck for weeks. It’s been so frustrating!!

But today, something shifted. A dead weight lifted; proof that mind and body are inseparable. Training the mind is just as vital as training the body. That’s what I explore through Ontology and Tarot: helping the inner dialogue find its strength again.

Here’s what I’ve learnt from working with @johnhiscock_pt about what makes a good coach:
✦ they’re proud of you, and that pride makes you proud of yourself (they’ll even dance when you have a little win)
✦ they meet your pace but still move you beyond your comfort zone
✦ they don’t give up on you; they lend you their faith until you can find your own again

Find the damn coach, the one for you - fitness, holistic, personal development, spiritual mentor, whatever it is. The people who do the work with you are fundamental; a solo journey can only take you so far. 💪

If tarot was just one card, it would be Judgement.

Judgement is the moment recognition arrives, a mirror that shows what we can’t keep ignoring and calls you to rise. Like a blade, it cuts cleanly, making space for truth. Like a chisel, it carves shape out of what intuition has muttered. And when it comes, it nails itself into our circumstances with a weight that cannot be set aside.

I choose to work with tarot because, whenever I lay the cards down, something happens that feels both ordinary and extraordinary. The outlines of things become sharper, where you stand, what is pressing, what is quietly asking to be answered. Tarot is an undeniable mirror to the moment, the voice that affirms what we already know in the quietest part of ourselves.

This is why I return to tarot, day after day. Because it makes the invisible visible. Because it brings what matters into focus. Because in its reflection, I see not only where I am, but what matters most, wonder & magic.

From there, everything opens.
Clarity arrives without spirals.
Energy holds steady rather than performing strength. Presence begins to travel with you, into work, into travel, into relationships, without being something you need to switch on.

This is the work: to cultivate a way of being that sustains, not a performance of growth.

Two years ago, I decided I would never again use “resilience” as armour.

I had watched too many high-achievers wear exhaustion like a crown, convincing themselves it was proof of strength. I knew that wasn’t the kind of life I wanted to model, or the kind of success I wanted to claim.

So I broke up with the cult of endurance. I stopped applauding myself for pushing through, and instead began listening to my body, my moods, my language.

Here is what I changed, precisely:
✦I redesigned my calendar for sovereign attention. Fewer switches, deeper presence, sessions that end when the work is complete rather than when the clock dictates.
✦I trained the body daily through strength training and recovery practices. Strength without strain. Grounded energy on demand.
✦I refined language as action. Clear requests, clean promises, boundaries that do not bruise.
✦I curated mood. Wonder for vision. Ambition for movement. Skilled responses to Anxiety, Resignation, and even grief.

Here is what followed:
✦Pressure sharpened into clarity. Decisions landed faster, with less noise and less anxiety.
✦Conversations became generative. Hard truths were spoken without rupture.
✦The circles around me, professional and personal, began to reorganise around steadier presence.
✦Clients reported breathing easier, ending their weeks with energy intact, and discovering more space for what matters.

Thrilled to be part of Borderlands Festival in Launceston on the 20th of September.

I’ll be reading at @cratesishighrecords from 10am–3pm, with a quick break to catch the parade, of course.

With @lanstefan_arts as festival HQ this year, moving the readings to Simon’s record shop was a no-brainer. Londoners reunited in Launceston, what are the chances!

I set out to take some photos, but got happily distracted and came across the ‘Juliet of the Spirits’soundtrack, one of my favourite Fellini films, the record is not much per sé compared to the gems in the shop, but it’s definitely a familiar little omen in uncertain times for me.

Simon has it all: hip hop, metal, jazz, and the gloriously strange. One more reason to visit Launceston… ✨ Come for the records, stay for the cards.

Why was I in @katiegoddengreen ’s studio this morning, you might ask…?

For the most part, I help people live, see, and feel differently through ontological coaching. Sometimes I add the magic of tarot for those who trust the unseen. However, one could argue that ontology itself reveals the unseen within you, shifting the way you are, see, and live.

Real-life challenges are their own peculiar alchemy, part curse, part rare blessing, and if you’ve lived them, or guided someone through them, you’ll understand the depth of their instruction. Three truths have settled in like old friends:

• Life is exquisitely brief. When that truth lands, it’s sharp, a reminder that not everyone chooses to honour the time they’ve been given, and they must arrive at that awareness in their own time.
• There is always the choice to lean toward possibility, to let the mind rest on what could flourish, rather than rehearsing the worst. The past holds enough of that already, so f*ck it.
• The good people in your life are the most enduring form of wealth. Full stop.

From an ontological view, this is not naïve optimism but a shift in one’s way of being, where language, body, and mood align toward acceptance. In tarot, it is The Star, the trust in a journey that reveals itself step by step. When we set down the instinct to soften every edge for others, we step fully into our own authority, and the future begins to arrange itself differently.

Although I have been quiet here, life has been rich behind the scenes: the luminous women of Lanstefan, animals (many small animals), a renewed training rhythm. I feel energised and grateful!

What’s ahead: Tarot Café returns on 20 August. On 6 September, the first Major Arcana workshop offers a deeper encounter with the language of the cards. The Arcana X subscription resets with the new full moon on 21 August, a great moment to join. For those ready for private work, five 1:1 spaces open each month, available by request.

THREE THINGS I’ve learnt training with @johnhiscock_pt :

1. Consistency over motivation. We don’t train because it’s fun, we train for the long-term gains. Some days have been rough (and painful), but John’s been there through it all and has helped me recover from chronic pain.
2. Doing more isn’t the answer, doing it right (for you) is. Whether it’s the body or the mind, having someone who knows how to get you there makes all the difference.
3. I’m a hot mess. I trip, I forget my pre-session snack, I swear too much…a “pain in the a**,” apparently. But that’s the thing: when you find a space that truly fits, where acceptance is built in, you show up anyway. And you’re always welcome.

Find someone who can take you there.

Dinner with @alejandro.jodorowsky . I was in my twenties. A baby then.. and I now know I have had an extraordinary life so far shaped by wonderful mentors and wise people (the best is yet to come!) but I see how their care is reflected in my practice now.

Midway through the conversation, he said: “𝘔𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘯. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘵.”

I didn’t quite understand it then. But it stayed. Years on, I see it every day in my practice. The need is there, shaping how people speak, what we avoid, how we hold ourselves.

And yet, most haven’t learnt how to see themselves. Which makes being seen by others feel just out of reach.

Such a lovely visit to @field.system, a proper folklore dream. Can’t wait to go back.

If you’re ever passing through, it’s well worth a stop.

Not far from there, I also came across a house with the biggest collection of wishing stones I’ve ever seen. So much folk magic just sitting out in the open. I’ve been hoping to find one myself… but no one was home, and I couldn’t bring myself to pinch someone else’s luck! The search continues! ✨🍀

𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝘆𝗺 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴?

There’s something about walking into a space covered in scribbles, that reminds you that you’re allowed to be exactly who you are. No performance required. No polishing needed. Just you. That matters.

Especially now, when so many of us are taught to override the body, to keep going, carry on, manage.

Where you enter matters. Some doors know how to receive all of you.

..so let’s talk about something we don’t often name here: the body.

Ontology works with language. It explores mood. But it also begins in the body, how we carry what we’ve lived, how we brace, suppress, adapt.

𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 “𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗶𝗻𝗴” 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

I’ve done the inner work and the therapy. They helped. But only to a point.

Ontological coaching took me further than I ever imagined.

I lived in chronic pain for 26 years.
None of those other approaches ever touched it. Ontology did.

It helped me see my body differently. Helped me ask for support. Helped me build a skilled team: a physio, a brilliant PT, a massage therapist who held me through the early, brutal weeks.

Now I’m proof of what becomes possible when body, language, emotions, and support come together.

My chronic pain is gone. Two-week attacks now shrink into one difficult evening. It’s still hard some days but my god, I’ve come so far.

With the right work, right people, I found my way back to myself.

Resilience looks like this.
Determination looks like this.
Coming back to yourself, worth it.

We’re all in different places. This worked for me. It might be worth exploring for you too.

Was it worth the investment?
Every minute. Every penny. Every morning I wake up able to move.

What a week we had so far at @meetus_atlanstefan , after an evocative Midsomer evening with @rebeccambeattie yesterday, tonight’s Witch Choir led by @hollyannecoles culminated in an impromptu dance with Dartmoor Border Morris & the Boscastle Border Morris dancers who are gracefully supported by the @museum_of_witchcraft_and_magic and @museum_of_british_folklore.

A spellbinding close to a gathering rich in true folklore spirit.
